In Loving Memory of George L. Crain, Jr. - Moncus Park Inclusive Playground
A fundraising campaign for Moncus Park.

About This Campaign
George Crain led an inspirational life as a dedicated family man, successful entrepreneur, and impactful philanthropist and community leader.
Mr. George had a successful career as the President of WHC, Inc., a company founded by his father, George Crain, Sr. His love of life was expressed in many ways, including his active roles in Mardi Gras as a member of the Krewe of Gabriel, his love of travel, but more than anything, his commitment and investment in his family.
As a philanthropist, George was incredibly generous, and leaves many legacies behind, including supporting Moncus Park's Inclusive Playground, as well as our local hospital systems and educational institutions. One of their more recent, notable donations went toward providing specialty freezers to ensure COVID-19 vaccines could be stored properly.
With his beloved wife, Merilyn, George was very involved in advocacy and philanthropy efforts toward accessibility, a very personal mission with impacts that will continue to be appreciated for generations to come. Moncus Park's commitment to full accessibility and inclusion throughout its design was one of the reasons the Crains support the park and its fully-accessible Inclusive Playground that will be able to be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their age or ability.
The Crains appreciate donations towards this important amenity for our community in lieu of flowers in remembrance of Mr. George's life and legacy.
